코로나19 90% 예방 백신이 등장하였습니다.

최근, 미국 제약회사 화이자와 독일 바이오엔테크가 함께 개발 중인 코로나19 백신의 효과가 90% 이상이라는 중간 결과가 발표되었는데요.

화이자는 9일(현지시간) 3상 임상시험 참가자 중 코로나19에 감염된 94명을 분석한 결과 자사 백신이 코로나19 예방에 90% 이상 효과를 발휘한 것으로 나타났다고 밝혔습니다.

사실, 그동안 과학자들은 최소 75% 이상의 효과를 가진 코로나19 백신을 기대해왔는데요. 미국의 앤서니 파우치 미국 국립알레르기·전염병연구소 소장은 50∼60% 정도만 효과적인 백신도 그런대로 괜찮다고 밝힌 바 있습니다. 따라서, 이번 겨로가는 중간 결과이기는 하지만 90% 이상의 효과는 일반 독감 백신의 두 배에 가까운 것이라 볼 수 있어, 굉장한 효과가 있는 것으로 보여지고 있습니다.

EU에도  백신 3억회분 공급할 것입니다.

독일 정부는 특정한 그룹이 먼저 코로나19 백신 예방 접종을 맞는 근거와 우선순위를 결정하는 절차를 설명할 계획이며, 초기 백신 접종자를 대상으로 애플리케이션(이하 앱)을 통해 부작용이나 증상을 입력하도록 요청하는 등 모니터링을 진행할 예정입니다. 이처럼, 독일 보건당국은 자국 내 예방접종을 희망하는 모든 사람이 백신을 접종하는데 걸리는 시간을 약 7개월로 예상하고 있습니다. 

 

그러나, 화이자의 CEO가 62억 어치의 주식을 매각하였습니다.

앨버트 부를라 최고경영자(CEO)는 백신 효과에 대한 발표가 있었던 당일, 자사 주식 560만달러(약 62억2100만원)어치를 매각한 것으로 드러났는데요, 해당 거래는 사전에 계획된 거래이기 때문에 충분히 합법적이지만, 시장의 반응은 좋지 못한 상황입니다. 화이자 측은 공식 성명을 통해 이번 매각은 올해 8월에 이미 결정됐던 계획의 일부라고 해명한 상태입니다.

사실, 이러한 대주주의 주식 매각은 시장의 의구심을 불러일으키기엔 충분한데요, 관련 주식 투자에도 신중해야겠습니다.
